Frequently Asked Questions
|
1) Which programs does Wall Street Institute offer to companies?
All of our programs focus on improving the English level of your employees, giving them skills which enhance their abilities in the workplace. Our key aim is to identify the needs of each participant and offer a program suitable to fulfill those needs.
As well as the courses offered by Wall Street Institute in our centers, we also have a range of products for courses to be held within your company. This varies from one-on-one classes to a complete Wall Street Institute center being set up on your premises!
Course programs are based on the 23 levels of the Wall Street method (17 core levels and 6 business levels). Especially the business levels provide insight into vocabulary and areas from key departments.
To establish exactly which program will best suit your needs, we recommend a meeting with a local Corporate Sales Manager to discuss further details.
2) How do I track my return on investment?
Wall Street Institute delivers monthly reports on the status of each and every employee. This is less an attendance report and more a report on progress towards the learning objective set. As such you can directly track how the investment is turning into higher level English skills.
Unlike many language schools, you do not book a fixed number of hours for a set price with Wall Street Institute. Based on your original consultation, we will calculate how many levels are required for each employee to reach his/her learning objective, then we will send you an offer to train all employees to their required level. As such your investment is based on goals and not hours, and you can directly track investment with actual results and not just hours attended.
3) How do I know which course is relevant for my employees?
Firstly, Wall Street Institute offers a test for all potential participants. In this way you can initially see which employees need help with their English. In this way you can optimize your investment strategy by investing in the most needy areas first.
The test, which comprises of grammar, listening, reading and vocabulary components, delivers a detailed and reliable result, defining one of our 23 levels as the starting point. The learning content of each level is clearly defined, so we work with you to define the goal for each participant.
With this detailed testing and consulting phase we work together with you to establish the right course program, also taking into account the subject matter from the optional business levels, for each employee.
4) What does the Entrance Test cost?
Wall Street Institute provides the Entrance Test free of charge. We offer this service to you to enable an accurate and detailed competence analysis within your company, which enables us to provide you with the most cost-effective training options.
5) Which areas of "Business English" do the courses cover?
The core methodology of Wall Street Institute is based on the ability to communicate. Whether in a business meeting, holding a presentation, writing an email, or taking part in a teleconference, the basic need to think in English and react spontaneously must be covered by any language course.
At Wall Street institute your employees learn the language as they learnt their native language – a mixture of exercises involving listening, speaking, reading and writing using realistic examples and situations encourages each participant to lose the fear to speak and relax with the English language. Regular and structured exchanges between the participants and teachers, in various group formats, enable a high level of practice and personal attention.
Coupled with the basic methodology are the optional business levels which give further insight into English in the business world in general and certain specific departmental vocabulary. Your employee may choose between the following subjects in the business levels – General Manager, Finance, Personnel, IT, Marketing, Sales, and Secretary.
Combining the general needs of language learning with optional business modules gives each employee a custom-made program for his/her needs delivering fast and effective results.
6) How does Wall Street Institute accommodate differing levels of ability into groups?
Groups with mixed levels are inevitably less effective, as each participant has different learning needs. At Wall Street Institute we have done away with the fixed group format in favor of a flexible ability-related group system.
Participants are no longer bound by a fixed time every week with the same fellow students. At Wall Street Institute, students book their own classes according to their own schedule. Our flexible booking system enables participants of exactly the same level to come together with a teacher to discuss their current progress, thus maximizing the effectiveness of the classes. An additional plus of this system is that participants will often meet new people in each class, no longer bound to the schedule and learning pace of other participants.
7) How can I track the results of employees attending the courses?
Wall Street Institute maintains a database of student results and attendance. For corporate clients, we offer a reporting service – every 30 days you will receive a report for each participant from your company.
This report is a detailed breakdown not only of attendance in the last month, but also of the actual learning progress related to the participant's goals. In this way, you can see directly how the English level of your organization is improving and track your investment.
Additionally, in cooperation with the Service team and Corporate Sales Manager, you can use these reports to discuss any changes needed within the program. For example, if an employee leaves the company half way through his course, you can take the remaining levels booked for that employee and allocate them to another person.
8) What do you do with participants who do not successfully pass the final test?
Due to our constant focus on each participant throughout the course, in every class of every Unit, we are able to locate and deal with any weaknesses and difficulties which occur as they occur. In this way we are able to react immediately and can offer advice and recommendations to the participant.
Participants at Wall Street Institute are given support and feedback at every step of their course, so they do not have to wait for a "final test" to determine progress or lack of it. This explains the high success rates of our courses.
9) What do courses at Wall Street Institute cost?
Your first advantage with Wall Street Institute: you will know from the start how much you need to invest. You do not pay per hour, you pay for the learning goals of each participant, regardless how many hours he/she needs to reach that goal. Tell us your goals, we'll tell you the exact investment needed to reach those goals.
Before we can supply you with a pricing quote there are many factors which need to be discussed – for example, how many participants, what are their starting levels, what are their learning objectives, etc.
Due to the many factors influencing our offer, we recommend you take an hour to have a detailed consultation with a Corporate Sales Manager in your country. Once you have agreed on the basic program for your organization we will be happy to provide a concrete quote.
